the cherry on top

The cherry on top of our amazing vacation was getting to spend time with the Lindsey and Jeff (and of course Macy)! We hate it that they moved away, but at least they had the decency to move to a place that we get to visit often. We got to meet up twice...

(DISCLAIMER: Do you like my sweet shirt? Justin bought it for me the day before at Disneyland...the "i'm with beast" reference is meant for Justin, not Lindsey)

once at the 1/2 way point between us, which was Temecula, hence the pictures of our children in a parking lot, and then on the way back to Utah we got to stop by their house!

amazing to think that when we met we were newlyweds and childrenless...and now look at that trunk load!

It was so fun to get to spend time with some of our favorite people. We went to dinner (which was delicious, good pick Jeff) and then a good old fashioned mall hang out session (during which the boys continuously tried to convince us that we should take the kids and let them go see Star Wars, nice try boys).

Do you like that we forced the boys to pose for a blog worthy picture as well?

It was great not to have to say goodbye that night because we knew we would get to see them on the way out of town too. So, on our way back home we stopped at their place...which is SUPER cute! And to all those anxiously awaiting pictures of her house...I don't have any boot leg pictures to show you, but I can tell you it was beautiful and has been Lindsey-ized to be absolutely perfect, of course not perfect enough yet for her standards of postability.

So after a nice long hang out and cookies and cream cupcakes (which I so need the recipe for), it was time to get back on the road and head home. We miss them tons and can't wait for our next trip. Such high quality friends are definitely worth the extra miles!
