out of the mouth of my babes...the sequel

this is my favorite little lady in the whole wide world.

she is "1 years old" as cole puts it.

she loves to talk on the phone and...

she is full of per-son-al-i-ty.

she LOVES "pretty's" as she calls them. and insists on wearing as much jewelry as I will let her each day. she requests that they be situated before she get's out of the crib.

she loves to do whatever cole does.

she talks up a storm...just like her mama.

my personal favorite is when she says "oh, darn it."

her favorite song is currently "the wheels on the bus" with "the itsy bitsy spider" and "sunbeam" as close seconds. although the sunbeam song is mostly because she loves to jump as she says sunbeam. she is very into actions with whatever song she sings.

and she dances the moment she hears music.

the table is her stage.

she loves asperagus.

she has developed a love for purses.

she has daddy right where she wants him.

she has a VERY protective big brother.

she swings her left arm repeatedly when she is trying to get somewhere fast.

after "pretty's" the second thing she asks for in the morning is her "sippy" and then to "get out"

she put herself in this pose when she saw the camera out.

she loves to smile and giggle.

and she loves to tickle you and then scream...cause that should be your reaction of course to being tickled.

she can't wait to get dressed everyday.

and take baths with bubbles.

and her reaction anytime there is a cookie in sight or spoken of is "COOK-IE" in the manliest of voices she can muster.

she is HILARIOUS. I could watch her and laugh all day...actually that's exactly what I do.

she scrunches up her face and makes this face that kills me anytime she is being mischievous, or thinks she is funny. it happens to be the same face she makes when she tells me something is "yucky ka ka".

she loves to be outside and is VERY independent.

we have no doubt this little girl can hold her own.
(based on her remarkable usage of "no!" and "mine!")

and just in case she ever can't cole is never far.

and my favorite thing she has mastered is the ever adorable

"lub you!"
(love you)

we "lub" you too ali.

out of the mouth of my babes!

this is my favorite little boy in the whole world.

he is 3

and he say's some of the funniest things ever.

I thought I would jot down just a few so I would remember them someday when he is old enough to hate that I remember this stuff.

he currently calls the movie Pocahontas, "Pocahummus".

one day I asked him what his phone number was randomly and he said our actual phone number...which would not be that amazing except that we never taught him this. he just picked it up from when he hears us tell other people.

he melts my heart when he says "mommy, your my best friend"

we has always called pj's "jaminies"...even though he knows the right way.

and he still calls macaroni, "macamony"...even though he knows what it's really called.

he randomly asks justin or me "so how's your day goin'?"

probably one of my favorites of all time is how he sings the mickey mouse club house song:

"M-I-C-K-E-Y I Love you S-E"

he tells the store clerks "thank you VERY much" when we exit a store.

after telling me what he would like to do: "does that sound like a stan plan?"
(to explain this one I sometimes say it's a plan stan)

ali is
ALWAYS : "baby ali" to him

he notices everything, one example: he saw Arabic writing on the side of a truck and said, "Hey, that looks like the letters from Aladdin!"

he quotes movies ALL THE TIME and it's usually appropriate for the conversation, even if he has only seen the movie once. and if he has seen it more than once he can recite the whole scene, for real. a few of our favorites:

"she just likes me for my body"
(said just like Mater)

"they say look at me, love me"
(accent and all)

"did you wake me up? did you rub my lamp?"

"what are you gonna do big guy, sit on me?"

I could go on for a while.

I haven't even tipped the iceberg.

I could drag this post out for a good long time.

but alas writing all about his adorable quirkiness, has made me want to go see what he's up to now.

he makes me laugh.

green day

for st. patrick's day you have to wear green

and eat green food
(green chicken salad sandwiches)

and if you do it right a leprechaun just might sneak into your house...

and leave you clues...

to send you on a treasure hunt...

around your house

and if you collect all the pieces of the rainbow he leads you to...

then you just might find...

a treasure!

and even though you have to share,

it's still pretty fun

and after all that running around and hard work, some green dinner will hit the spot!

ping pong partners in crime

"Macy, this looks like fun..."

"Yeah, but it would be more fun if it was you and me Ali! You think there is a way to arrange that?"

"Oh, I think we can work it, we've got these dad's wrapped around our adorable little fingers!"

"see Macy it worked like a charm..."

"Ah, much better"

"they didn't even stand a chance."

potty princess

she is obsessed.

she begged me to go in the "potty room" and what does she do?

she says "pee" and wipes her fanny.
(while still totally wearing her diaper)

hmmm...she is not only obsessed with the potty (as many kids are), but comes to me pulling on her pj's, tears running down her adorable face saying "pott-eeee!" in the most desperate of tones.
This all started when she peed right after I got her out of the bath tub and I pointed it out to her. she said "pee". then later in the kitchen, while fully clothed she came to me, stopped in her tracks and gave me the funniest look. I asked what was wrong and she said "pee" I checked her and sure enough she had just gone. and she now continues to inform me when she goes.
so now I am faced with a dilemma...do I start potty training with her? It's so stressful, and yet a grocery basket diaper-free sounds so alluring. I guess I have to decide if I am brave enough. My mom says we were all potty trained at 18 months and when I asked her how she did it she said my grandma did it. hmm doesn't it only seem fair then that I get a free pass while she does this for my children? Cole didn't really get good and trained till a week before his 3rd birthday, when the bribe offered was good enough and he was good and ready.
Ali is a stubborn little thing which means this could go either direction.

wedded bliss, becca style!

on March 6, 2010 one of my favorite people in the world got hitched!

to this fella, who happens to be perfect for her

in this temple
with a packed house who were so touched that they cried during what was the sweetest of moments.

and then had the cutest reception ever!

complete with a photo-booth and darling decor.

I mean how cute is this?

even the trash cans were pure cuteness.

then there was dancing...and cole begging for more dancing.

because he is after all in love with the bride.

in fact he is one in a long line who love this girl.

I am tearing up just thinking about how sweet and perfect it all was.

and she deserved no less.

and by the way he looks at her you can tell he knows just how much she deserves.

congrats you too!

while in provo...

cole and justin had fun in the snow on our trip to provo this last weekend.

and here is the proof:

and here is the proof of who enjoyed making the snowman just as much as the kiddo.

and here they are admiring their handy-work.

and here is what cole thought the highlight of the whole thing was:

"Can I eat it?!"

"uh, sure"...have we mentioned this kid LOVES eating snow?

now this is the life!

just another fabulous day at the park in february.

ah, we are loving St. George right now.

as are our children.

see, I told you they were.

how could they not be?

with things to swing from,

and things to climb (even if it's the wrong way),

and dogs to marvel at,
(look at her face...priceless)

and touch

and sand to play in,

and daddy to carry you home.

even if you are a big boy.

yeah, how could we not be loving St. George right now?
