the seaweed is always greener...

One of the best parts of Cole being 2 is that he is old enough to enjoy all the fun places, but still young enough to be free! As his birthday fast approaches, we have decided to take full advantage of the 2 year old stage. So, on Saturday we headed up to Sandy to the Living Planet Aquarium. We were a little skeptical when we pulled up to the building, as Justin pointed out it looks a bit like a supermarket...

but once inside we were pleasantly surprised!

They actually had some pretty cool exhibits. One of our favorites was this octopus...it looked crazy up close.

Cole thought the eel's were pretty cool too.

The jellyfish must have been a big hit for him, because when he got to pick out a souvenir at the end he went straight for the jellyfish toys.

We all thought the petting pond was a highlight of the day, it had sting rays and fish, Cole thought it was great when they would lap up to the side and splash.

and this is us forcing our child to pose at a perfectly set scene for a photo opp.

They also had a place for the kids to climb through a reef. What little boy doesn't love a cave?

I love his face in this picture, it showcases perfectly how excited he was about everything there.

This is the station where you could touch starfish and crabs. Cole was pretty captivated by all of it.

and what you ask was Ali doing during all of this? She was just hanging out in her stroller until...

...we hit the gift store on the way out. Shopping perked her right up...a girl after my own heart.

She loved this stuffed octopus and gave it kisses right away. She knew just how to work Daddy.

We had a such a fun day as a family, and would reccomend the aquarium to anybody with young kids. They had spiders, snakes, bugs, and frogs in addition to all of the sealife.

We loved our little adventure!

I'm glad that Cole was good. Eryn was HORRIBLE when we went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay in Vegas! I had no idea that they had so much to see there. Good to know. -VAL

That's funny that you say that, because if I remember right, it was a supermarket. My kids really liked that museum too. Little small for the price though.

Sounds like such a fun outing!! Your kids have gotten so big. I guess that's what happens when I only browse the blogs once in a while.
So sorry about Justin's knee. That stinks. Good luck with everything.
I love your kitchen. You did a great job!!

So it's been 3 days since Coop's had an accident so I think (knock on wood) we are past the bad part. The first 3 days we potty trained he was naked from the waist down and we had a portable potty sitting in the living room. We didn't go anywhere during that time. There was no way we could since he went probably 15 times each day. Now he's gradually learned to hold it and goes less. He really enjoys the M&M reward afterwards but there's no amount of M&M's that can make him go #2 on the potty unfortunately! We're still working on that. One thing I wished I would have done is get underwear that is 2 sizes too big for him so it's easier for him to get it on and off himself because we are still working on him doing everything totally by himself. Also, my sister-in-law got a potty watch at Macy's that goes off every 30 minutes to 2 hours with a song that reminds him to go to the bathroom. He loves wearing it! So that's probably much more than you wanted but hope it helps!
