Taste the Rainbow

Cole has been saying some of the most random things lately, so I thought I would document them for the grandparents sake! The first has to do with this picture. Cole loves that skittles commercial where every time the guy touches anything it turns to skittles. So he apparently remembered the catch phrase to the commercial and when I let him eat some M&M's for dessert today he said "Cole taste the rainbow!"...wrong candy, hilarious statement. Then when I went to take this picture Cole said "One, Two, Three...I gotta pee". He said it with the funniest face. Another random thing he has said lately is repeated every time I give him something or sometimes he just randomly walks up to me and says "I'm a lucky guy". I have no clue where he got that from but it's pretty darn cute.

"It's UTAH!"

The other day I heard Cole ripping some paper in the corner. I walked over to make sure that it was nothing important and he handed me this piece of paper he had torn and said "Mama, it's Utah!" Then he handed me the piece that he had torn off and said "This is Michigan!" and I have to admit it totally looked like that part of Michigan that resembles a hand. I love this kid!

"Are You lookin' at Me?"

hittin' the books

And what you ask is he studying? Look closely, that would be the ward list. We found Cole on the floor looking through the ward list. He usually looks at it when we have it out and points out the people he knows, but this time he got it out himself and was just looking through studying up! It wouldn't surprise me if he knew more of the people in there than me! Our little Mr. Social cracks me up.

Bless You

Ali was blessed on Sunday, October 12, 2008. Justin did a wonderful job! My mom and grandma were in town along with my aunt and uncle, so it worked out to bless her this weekend. She is such a blessing in our lives. Ali is a happy, adorable addition to our little family. She makes her daddy smile, her brother laugh, and her mommy happy. We are all so in love with her.

Down at the Boondocks!

Enterprise has a family night at Boondocks once a year where they give you food, free rein on all the rides, and tokens for the games! Last year Cole was a little too young to enjoy it, but this year was a blast! My Family was in town so they watched Ali to give Cole some much needed alone time with his folks! He loved his adventure! First we hit up the outside fun, before it got too cold. He rode the Go-carts with Dad, and we all hopped in the bumper boats. Unfortunately these bumper boats were equipped with squirt guns and Cole loved that button! I thought it was Justin soaking me...but soon found out it was Cole manning the water stream. He loved getting me and his priceless face shows it! Then we went inside and played. Coles favorites were the BIG basketball game with Dad and a giant jungle gym play land. He was so brave. The jungle gym was HUGE and he braved it to the top all alone...he is so not his Mom's child. Dad is happy about that! Dad's favorites were the giant video games (check out his intense face) and he even tried his hand at the little tike games...so cute. But the BIG hit of the night for Cole was feeding the tickets into the ticket counter. Who knew that putting the tickets in the machines would be more exciting then getting them out! As you can see from the last picture...it was a big night, full of fun, that tuckered out our little man.

Double the Pleasure, Double the Fun!!

As of tomorrow we will officially have a 2 year old and a 2 month old. It is amazing how fast this is going. They are both learning such different things and we are loving every minute of it! Let's start with Ali...

The 2 Month old

Ali had her 2 month appointment today! She weighs 9 lbs 10 ounces (60 percentile), she is 22 inches long (75 percentile), and her head is 38 cm (75 percentile). Considering Cole weighed 10 ounces more than this at 2 weeks we feel like she is so tiny! At least compared to what we are used to! We are so happy she came to our little family! She is so patient with Cole, who continues to be a wonderful big bro to her. And with all of the amazing things Cole is learning you may ask how can she possibly keep up? Well she can...she started SMILING!!!!! We caught her adorable smile on tape for you to enjoy, as well as a few pic's of our Ali! It is amazing how those little things can seem so huge.

The 2 YEAR old

Cole has been a little sponge the last few months! He loves learning anything that you want to teach him. His latest accomplishments to add to his resume include: Learning his ABC's (not only the song, but recognizing the letters), learning a few states, and learning the names of a few of the apostles! We cannot take credit for the righteous one...Jed and Kim have been teaching him the names of the first presidency along with their pictures. So on Saturday when the first session of conference started and he saw the Prophet on the screen he got all excited and pointed to the TV saying "that's President Monson, that's President Monson!" we were amazed and then he continued pointing to each speaker asking "Who is that?" and then repeating their names. It was pretty cute. He has been working on his ABC's for a while and now points to every letter he see's anywhere we go and tells us what it is. So the video's are clips of him performing his tricks. The shorter one is of him naming states from the map (he has since learned Colorado, Texas, and Florida...could we be teaching these in a more random order?). The longer one features his vocal stylings with Itsy Bitsy Spider, Do as I'm Doing, and the ABC's. He is so fun and he say's and does things everyday that crack us up! We sure love our little man!

Sweet Dreams

This was way to sweet to pass up! Justin has fallen hard for his little girl. I love the moments when he doesn't know I am watching and I catch the look in his eyes as he watches her. He has always been adorable with Cole, but this little girl has completely melted him. I feel sorry for the first boy who tries to date Ali, Justin is already thinking up ways to scare potential suitors. What a lucky little gal, she is so loved, and moments like this show just how much!

Never Say Never...

I was raised in a family that called those bows that you put on bald baby girls "sling shots". So, nothing against those of you who have put them on your little ladies, but I swore I would NEVER wrap one around my little ones head! For years now my friends have been vowing to change my mind, I thought their efforts were nothing but a lost cause. Well, never say never! In my defense to my family reading this and shaking their heads preparing to mock my daughter I just have to say...it's all Lindsey's fault! She put one of Macy's bows on Ali the other day and I felt my stern aversion to these suckers melt away. Ali looked so cute and like a girl. So, I made the trip to the store to purchase Ali some accessories for her non-existent locks! Although I remain picky about which bows I will and will not use, I have to admit, I do think she looks adorable...I just hope I can stand the "I Told You So's"!
